Gear changes Nikon Z 6 Prime lens

After spending almost the entire 2018 year on the Nikon d5600 dsrl camera body I felt that I was ready for something that challenged me more as a photographer. I hadn’t owned another camera other then the Nikon p900 which was just a 83x zoom monster with a few presets for long exposure and custom star lapse photos which were great functions for my rookie days.

Fast forward to now in 2019 using the Nikon Z 6 Mirrorless body has changed my entire work flow and how quickly I get things done with this camera.

  • Body: nikon z 6
  • Lens: 24-70 f/4,
  • Lens: 50mm prime 1/8

One of the biggest challenges for me to start with when I first started to work with this camera was the joystick πŸ•Ή. One could see this as how to focus in specific spots while using focus modes like afs. The different focus sections are in squares which can be altered on the fly. It does take some time to adjust to using this but it works great and hopefully in the future nikon can speed up the focus issuses.

The 50mm flows very nicely with this camera and is part of the z series line. At 1.8 this lens is a joy to shoot with and no need to keep it that low. I was able to agree that the sweet spot can be easily achieved at 4-4.5.

Also the 24-70mm f 4 is very sharp edge to edge and has time and time again impressed me. For what some would consider a kit lens it doesn’t feel like the typical kit lens and will take you the distance until you get mote glass.

I will be sharing more on the camera soon and how it’s been coming along. If you have any questions please feel free to comment.

  1. Very cool man! It’s definitely an exciting time to be a photographer no matter the skill level. All of these cameras coming out are pretty great. Can’t wait to see what you can do with that thing!

    1. Thank you for the response it sure is. One of the bigger things I may mention in another post is the EVF screen that shows you the love exposure. What a big game changer, I also bought three batteries for it for I don’t seem to burn through them like I first feared. My Instagram is evanamos if you want to see some of the shots I’ve taken. Best wishes.
