Desert shoot with Nikon Z 6 mirrorless

This shoot was in North Phoenix including a model with golden hour in the Sonoran Desert. This was the second day we shot and perfected a few shots in the 100 degree heat 🔥. Arizona this time of year can be very demanding in a shoot especially depending on the outfit and theme. The model has previous gun experience from being in the service and was a perfect fit for this scene. We started off with the idea of a hiest but them settled for some nice perspective shots and depth. Equipment for this used was the following.

Gear used:

  • 📸 Nikon z6
  • 24-70mm f4
  • High extended mode shooting enabled for action if needed.
  • Spot metering when needed.

Below are sample shots from the shoot including a link to other shoots and content.Edited in:

  • Photoshop
  • Lightroom

Overall the Nikon Z6 handled very well on sunset as expected with minimal worry for dust due to its dust free body. If you are changing a lens in the field be sure to pull the battery from the z6 and engage the sliding doors to resist dust. They have a few videos online on how to do this and it can be a really good way to stay dust free on your sensor.Follow us for more portraits MoodyportsFeel free to share your pages and content I’d love to see what everyone is up to.
